23 Weeks! (23.2 -11/14/13)

Time is ticking away! I still can't believe he will be here in 4 short months! I finally covered his light switch plate today...

I think it turned out pretty cute!

This is the same fabric we are using for a few other things in his nursery :)
I am in love with the colors!

I had my 2nd part of the anatomy scan today. They couldn't see his heart well last time because of his position. Today he was also all snuggled up and not cooperating, but she thinks she finally got the right photos after some poking and me moving all around! All I can do is pray he is healthy and that I DON'T get any phone calls. I kinda hate the no news is usually good news tho. I kind of wish they would just tell me either way as soon as they know! Oh well, I guess it is out of my control... happy thoughts and wishes that everything is fine!

I had my check up right before my ultrasound appointment and my doctor told me he is measuring big! Maybe a tall baby?! She asked if my husband was tall.. He's 6'2.. I'm 5'7.. Not really "tall" or "short".
Guess time will tell! She also went to check his heart rate using the doppler and he immediately started kicking! He was not a fan! She laughed and asked if I could feel him move.. I sure could!

It's amazing how much he has changed! He really has grown!
7 weeks -so small!!

23 weeks!

Milestone of the week?!
-I saw his movement from the outside this past week! He was really kicking and made my stomach wiggle a bit! He has been so active! I swear I felt him do a flip the other day as well! I love each and every movement :)

The nursery is coming along too! Here's a small sneak peak at part of it..
I can't wait to do a nursery tour! I will likely film a video and upload it to my YouTube channel, but I will also put some photos on here too! :)

I find myself just walking in there to let things all sink in! I hope he likes it! I have really enjoyed decorating and setting it all up!

22 Weeks! (11.5.13)

I'm officially 22 weeks as of tomorrow, but I wanted to get this post up this morning!

Last night -22.5 weeks, my husband felt the baby kick for the first time! I had been so excited for this moment! :) We were just resting in bed and I felt the lil guy kicking a bit so I placed my husband's hand on my stomach. It took a few seconds and then he felt him kick twice! :) I know that the kicks and movements are going to get stronger and stronger, but it was so amazing to finally have him feel and experience it with me! Every kick just reassures me that he is doing fine and makes everything so real! Hard to believe in 4 short months that he will be here in our arms! Our lives are going to change, and I can't wait!

Nothing too new has been going on other than that. He wasn't moving as much this past weekend so of course I was worried, but I read that can be normal. He still had a lot of room and is still small enough where I won't always feel everything! 22 weeks marks the big ONE pound mark and now he is 11 inches long.. almost a foot! It's crazy to think how when I first found out that I was pregnant he was only the size of a poppy seed!

Time is flying by... and I know it will be so busy with the holidays ahead! I'm just trying to enjoy it as much as I can and really prepare and plan for what I can! His nursery is looking SO cute! We have it mostly set up, just need his bedding, changing pad, and a few more decorations for the wall. I have been trying to slowly stock up on things he will need and I think that will pay off later on when I am too big and tired to want to do any of it haha. The next thing we really need to start buying are his cloth diapers. We are going to be using Bum Genius Freetime diapers and only have 2 so far. I'd like to buy about 20/22 more!

Here is the baby blanket I made him! It was the first time I tried out this "chevron/wavy" pattern, and I LOVE how it turned out! The colors are perfect in his nursery!

Penny and Lexi breaking in the new rug for the nursery! They like it! :)

I meant to post this pic back at 20 weeks, but better late than never!

20 Weeks! 1/2 way there! (10.22.13)

Wow, I can't believe it is the half way mark! 20 weeks today!

We had the big anatomy scan this morning! She confirmed that it is indeed a BOY :).. and we got several pictures to take home. I was a little disappointed that the photos weren't very clear, but it was amazing to see our lil baby again wiggling all around! He was playing with his feet, crossing his ankles, and opening his mouth up! It was too cute! Everything he does just amazes me already!!

His closet is getting very full now!! Thanks to generous friends and family we already have so much set up and ready for this lil guy. I can't wait to do a nursery tour and share some photos as well once it's more finished... but it is coming along! I know I'm a little too organized maybe for 20 weeks, but it feels good! I think there will be less stress in the end! I'm just so excited that I want to do everything and I want everything to be ready and "perfect"!

Symptoms 2nd trimester - I've had some nasty acne lately, which isn't too fun... AND I have been an emotional basket-case! I will start balling hysterically to the point of laughter for the most random reasons. My husband definitely gets a kick out of it! I just have no control over it! I really lose it haha. Other than that nothing much new going on!

Movement: He has been mooooooving so much lately! Today he was kicking and wiggling off and on all day! I love love love feeling him move! I get excited and actually look forward to the next time! It's such an amazing feeling! It really fills up my heart with so much love!

So this pregnancy is officially half way done! I hope the next half is as good to be as the first half has been. I can only pray and hope for a healthy delivery and baby in the end! I'm nervous, but so excited...

His baby book that I ordered arrived yesterday! :) It's adorable!!!

This is the bedding inspiration for his nursery! We ordered some of the fabric.. now I just need to figure out how to work my sewing machine :-p. I am SO in love with the colors!

19 Weeks! 10.15.13 + We have a NAME!!

Today is the 19 week mark!! Crazy to think the pregnancy is almost 1/2 way through! I am so excited tho and have really been trying to enjoy each day :)

I had another Doc appointment today and everything looked fine! His heartbeat was beating away and sounded good!

My doctor didn't spend much time looking at him.. it looked like he was sleeping (I felt him moving like crazy a few hours later when I was crocheting his baby blanket!). She took a couple photos for me.. but they were pretty blurry! In one he was crossing his legs.. and the other he had his elbow bent up and his hand resting on his forehead. The big 20 week anatomy scan is next week, so she said we'd get some good pictures then! I just hope and pray that everything looks good and that he's a healthy lil guy! I already love him so much!!

My husband and I have had the name pretty much decided for awhile now... we really liked 2 names for boy. We decided on...

:) We both love the name Noah.. and it just feels right! It is so special to call him by name! We really can't wait to meet him!

Bleh, I got the flu shot today... I normally don't get them, but my Doc really recommended it since being pregnant does weaken your immune system. Plus I work with kids who are full of germs, so I decided to get it. I am so tired now.. I may just have to nap! Wish it was cooler around here, it is still in the 80's!! Where is Fall???!!?

Guess that's all I really have to update for 19 weeks! :)

Closet Organizers for the Nursery!

Hey guys!

Today I decided to start working on some of the craft projects I have planned for the baby!
I went to Michael's last weekend and picked up some painted wooden animal pieces, paint, stickers, and plain wooden door hanging pieces to make closet dividers for his clothes!

As easy as 1-2-3!

1.) paint -front/back/edges
2.) hot glue animals on
3.) add stickers @ the tops for sizes and for decoration!

This is how they turned out... TaDa!

I knew I wanted to use stickers to label the sizes at the top so that these can be changed for future growth :) Right now they can be used up to 24 months!

I'm going to hang them in the closet to divide up all the sizes of clothing so it will be easier to stay organized... plus it makes the closet cute too!

We are doing a theme that involves animals, but you could really decorate them anyway! Be creative!

It's a....

Boy or Girl?!?!

I had to "wrap" up the envelope with the gender so that I wouldn't peek before our trip!!

Ah!!! The suspense is driving me crazy!!

@ our spot on the beach in Malibu, Ca -Oct. 3rd, 2013

BOY!!

Guess intelligender was right for us! We are having a lil boy! :)

We couldn't be more thrilled! Either way we would have been so excited.. all we really want is a happy and healthy baby.. (I know everyone says this.. but it's true!) I feel so blessed and lucky to be having this baby that it really didn't matter to me if it was a boy or a girl. I just wanted to KNOW! :) I kind of secretly did want a little boy first.. to be the "big brother".. in case we have a lil girl one day :-p...

Quick version:
It was such a special moment when we found out! I will forever cherish the memory.
We actually took a special trip back to the place where we met and fell in love just 9 short years ago -UCLA! (to the very date.. Oct. 3rd). We had the gender sealed in an envelope and went to our special spot on the beach where my husband first told me he loved me. We opened the envelope at the exact same spot.. and found out we were going to have a son! :) What a special way to celebrate that I will never forget. We later watched the ultrasound video together and it was amazing to see our lil boy wiggle and move around! He's such a cutie :)

The next day we went around UCLA's campus taking pictures of our lil "Pookie".. in blue or pink. Then we finally announced it to friends after calling our parents the night before of course!

I couldn't wait to go shopping for boy things! I found some really cute things... I never imagined it would be so fun to shop for a boy! I will have to do a baby buys haul video to share what I found!

Hard to believe it has already almost been one full week of knowing it's a boy! I really couldn't be more excited! :)

XOXO

Boy or Girl?!

BOY OR GIRL?!

Hey guys! It's about that time!
14 GENDER PREDICTIONS!

Today is the night before we find out boy or girl! So I thought it would be fun to test out some old wives tales. I found the suggestions from:
http://babyandbump.momtastic.com/pregnancy-second-trimester/506423-big-list-all-old-wives-tales-baby-gender.html

1. Shape of Belly
If you are carrying high with a big, round belly, you are having a girl. If you are carrying low with a smaller belly that sticks straight out, it’s a boy.
*This ones tricky, because I am carrying low, but I feel big and round! I am leaning more toward low tho…
Prediction outcome: BOY

2. Heart Rate
If the baby's heart rate is above 140 bpm, it is said that the baby will be a girl. If it is under 140 bpm, then it will be a boy.
*This baby always has a fast strong hb! I have never seen/heard it under 140!
Prediction outcome: GIRL

3. Ring Test
Using a string, hang your wedding ring over your pregnant belly. You are having a girl if the ring swings back and forth and it’s a boy if it swings in a circle.
*It went in more of an oval, so circle?!
 Prediction outcome: BOY
4. Acne
If you have acne while pregnant, it’s a girl. It’s thought that acne during pregnancy is caused by the extra hormones.
*I have had so many breakouts. Lot's of small patches mainly on my forehead/face, but this is rare for me! Normally my skin is so clear!
Prediction outcome: GIRL

5. Cravings
People believe that if you are craving salty foods while pregnant, you can count on having a boy. If you crave sweets, fruit, and orange juice, you are having a little girl.
*I have had a major sweet tooth! Which I normally don't have!!
Prediction outcome: GIRL

6. Moodiness
If you are really moody, you are having a girl since you have another extra girl hormones in you.
*I've been more emotional… definitely. hah...
Prediction outcome: GIRL

7. Chinese Gender Chart
The Chinese Gender Chart claims to have an accuracy rate of over 90%. It is based on how old the mother is at conception and the month that she conceived.
Prediction outcome: BOY

8. Dream of Sex of Baby
If you have dreams that you are having a boy, you will have a girl. If you dream about having a girl, it will be a boy. Dreams show the opposite of what you are having.
*My dreams are SO vivid.. every single time I have dreamt boy.. They really have me convinced almost 100% that it is a boy!
Prediction outcome: GIRL

9. Side You Most Rest On
If a pregnant woman prefers to lay on her left side, she’s having a boy. If she prefers resting on her right side, she’s having a girl.
*Before pregnancy I always preferred the left, now I despise it and always want to lay on my right!
Prediction outcome: GIRL

10. Dad's Weight Gain
If the dad-to-be gains weight while you are pregnant, it’s a girl. If he doesn’t gain weight, you’re having a boy.
Prediction outcome: BOY

 11. What Do You Think?
71% of the time, the mom-to-be knows what she is having.
*I have had a "gut" feeling that it's a boy.. from the start!!
Prediction outcome: BOY

12. Morning Sickness
If you had a smooth pregnancy with no morning sickness, it’s a boy. If you were sick or felt really nauseous during your pregnancy, count on a girl.
*Not once did I get physically sick (@ least not Week 1-17! Lucky!)
Prediction outcome: BOY

13. Urine
What color is your pee? If it is bright yellow, you will have a little boy. If your urine is a dull yellow, plan on a girl.
Prediction outcome: BOY

14. Headaches
If you are having headaches, you might be carrying a boy.
*Yep, mainly 2nd trimester only tho!
Prediction outcome: BOY

RESULTS:
Boy -8
Girl -6

BOY overall! We will know soon for sure!!!! :)
